Skyc0de is the creative home of Kyoto-based filmmaker and photographer Bernard Lykes. He works across digital and analogue formats in Japan and on select projects abroad.
My work centres on intentional, cinematic imagery and authentic storytelling, ranging from contemporary digital production to the distinctive texture of Super 8 and 16mm film.
I work with:
-
Editorial and Arts: music videos, fashion films, artistic projects and independent documentaries.
-
Weddings and life milestones: elopements, wedding proposals, intimate celebrations and lifestyle films.
-
Analogue film: Super 8 and 16 mm filmmaking for couples, artists and musicians, as well as for personal projects.
I am based in Kyoto and work throughout Japan, including in Tokyo and Osaka. I have a particular interest in projects that have a strong sense of place, character and story.
I value the craftsmanship that goes into creating an image, as well as the narrative it carries.
